Heavy Rain About To Pour As Circulation Hovering Around Mumbai

Today on 19th Sept 2017 since afternoon, the cyclonic circulation is over adjoining Konkan area close to Mumbai (see the animation picture). Circulation won’t weaken as the vertical extension is up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and from 19th evening onwards till  evening of 20th it will give very heavy to extremely heavy rain to Mumbai because eastern Ghats will not allow to escape the circulation and it will come northwards. Before dissipating it will give rain to Mumbai and Raigad area today and tomorrow. Then rainfall will be decreasing after evening of 20th September 2017.

Heavy rain warning was given to Mumbai and entire Konkan for 18th, 19th & 20th Sept 2017. The circulation was over South Gujarat and adjoining North Konkan on 18th. Though it didn’t rain much over Mumbai on 18th since convergence zone was over Ratnagiri coast (see the animation picture). Chiplun, Dapoli in Ratnagiri districts and districts in Raigad received very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall but Mumbai could not get rain on 18th.
