WEEKLY REPORT ENDING ON 06TH JANUARY 2018

Realised Weather and Synoptic situation (31st December to 06th January 2018)

Last week, north India was in the grip of dense fog and severe cold wave. Fog disturbed the life of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh(UP) and northern part of Madhya Pradesh(MP). Cold wave observed in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Even in Maharashtra and Gujarat some days cold waves observed over Saurashtra and Kutch, Vidarbha and northern part of Maharashtra.

The maximum temperature of 11.8º C recorded at Aligarh (West Uttar Pradesh) on 02nd January 2018 was the lowest maximum recorded in the plains of northwest India during the week.

The minimum temperature of 0.0º C recorded at Sikar (East Rajasthan) on 03rd January was the lowest minimum recorded in the plains of northwest India during the week.

Feeble Western disturbance passed over Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this only Jammu and Kashmir, Himanchal Pradesh and Uttarakhand received snowfall and rain. But due to increase in moisture level Punjab, Haryana, UP and Rajasthan experienced fog and dense fog. Cold day conditions also prevailed over UP, MP, and Rajasthan.

 

Forecast for the week 07th January 2018 to 13th  January 2018 for Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat State:

Dry weather will prevail over the region and Vidarbha. However day and night temperatures are likely to fall by 1 to 2 degree over Vidarbha, Marathwada, districts of Jalgaon Malegaon, Dhulia and Nandurbar, parts of Kutch and North Gujarat region.

A Western Disturbance is likely to hit North West Himalayan region from 11th onward.
