WEEKLY REPORT ENDING ON 10TH FEBRUARY 2018

Western disturbance was over Afghanistan and adjoining Pakistan. No cold wave condition prevailed. However, the minimum temperatures were markedly below normal to below normal on many days over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema; on a few days over Chhattisgarh, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka and on one or two days over Odisha, Jharkhand and North Interior Karnataka.

The lowest minimum temperature of 2.4°C was recorded at Churu (West Rajasthan) in the plains of the country on 7th February.

Weather Over Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa

Weather was dry over Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. There is no significant change in minimum temperature during the week except they were very much below normal over Vidarbha.

On 6th and 7th February, weather was cloudy over Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra as there was a trough of low pressure at surface level extending from Maldives to Eastcentral Arabian sea.

 

Forecast for the week 11th February to 17th February.

The western disturbances approaching India in this week and likely to develop an induced circulation over Northwest India. The westerlies from induced low  and easterlies at lower level will be influencing in development of  significant weather activity over North and Central India.

Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will experience heavy snowfall / rainfall. Thuderstorms accompanied by hail will be experienced in North India as well as Central India. ( see GFS model output below.)
