Weekly Weather Report Ending 01st September 2018

Realised weather during the week 26-08-2018 to 01-09-2018.

On 26th August a low pressure area was formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal.

On 26th August night it became well marked low.

As mentioned in the last week weather report, the low pulled monsoon trough southward. This arrangement gave lot of rain to Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Effect of this arrangement gave some rain to North Gujarat region also. In Maharashtra, only Vidarbha got rain because of this low. But Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh got rain nearly full week. Monsoon trough was active full week. One special synoptic phenomenon seen during the week was along the monsoon trough there was a shear zone at latitude 22 degree north. Because of this arrangement central India got good rain.

Forecast for the week 02-09-2018 to 08-o9-2018.

Monsoon activity will now confine to north India and East India. At present monsoon trough is slightly north of its normal position with embedded cyclonic circulation over central part of south Uttar Pradesh and one over interior Odisha.

Gujarat state will not have rain during next week. Only some passing shower will likely to occur Gujarat state.

In Maharashtra Nasik , Pune, Satara and Kolhapur will receive light to moderate rain full week. Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Malegaon will receive moderate rain during first half of the week and heavy rain during second half of the week. Rest of Maharashtra will receive passing shower only.

Rain activity will be confined to east India.

A anticyclone start developing over West Rajasthan. During the next week because of Monsoon trough and one or two cyclonic circulation rainfall activity will be over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.

Monsoon watch

This month of monsoon is a withdrawal month. Monsoon will start withdrawing from West Rajasthan. Monsoon trough become shorter. From west India it started disappearing.
