WEEKLY WEATHER REPORT FOR THE WEEK ENDING 19th JANUARY 2019

Couple of western disturbances moved along the path of Afghanistan – North Pakistan – Jammu & Kashmir and further eastwards during the week. A fresh western disturbance lies over Iran on 18th January 2019 and likely to moved eastwards.

The induced cyclonic circulation developed over Punjab and West Rajasthan due to which cold wave conditions prevailed over Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra during the later half of the week.

0.4 deg C recorded at Churu ( West Rajasthan) was the lowest minimum temperature in India during the week.

For Maharashtra, the minimum temperatures were mostly below normal during most of the week. However, the minimum temperatures are showing increasing trend towards end of the week.

 

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK 21st January to 27th January 2019

The passage of western disturbance will cause snowfall over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the first part of the week. Punjab , Haryana and Uttar Pradesh will likely to experience hailstorms during the week.

There will be not much variations in the minimum temperature during the week. The day temperatures will be showing increasing trend during the week.
