Weekly Weather Report Ending 26th May 2018

Realised weather during the week 20-05-2018 to 26-05-2018.

During the last week region was hot and dry. Thundershowers was observed at one or two places over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada districts. Vidarbha , West Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan and Delhi were under the grip of heat wave. Cyclonic Storm MEKUNU, which developed over Southwest Arabian sea on 22-05-2018, moved towards Oman and crossed Oman on 26th May. After crossing also it remains as a Cyclonic Storm. News started coming about South Oman. Two India Navy ships have started sailing towards Oman on humanitarian relief. Southern Oman facing power off and strong wind that triggered flash floods, trees fell. Cyclone has weakened to category one after making landfall on Saturday morning west of Dhofar Oman, Salalah also affected with heavy rain and floods.

Forecast for the week 27-05-2018 to 02-06-2018:

The low pressure area developed over southeast Arabian sea off Kerala-­Karnataka coasts with associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level will intensify into well marked low by 28th May. It will influence the monsoon progress over Kerala by 29th May 2018.

For Maharashtra, Gujarat & Goa:

Next week Maharashtra will smell monsoon current. Latter half of the week will be wet for Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada. Gujarat state and Vidarbha will be dry. Temperatures of these areas will come down.
