Weekly Weather Report Ending 2nd June 2018

Realised weather during the week 27-05-2018 to 02-06-2018.

In the last week monsoon touched Kerala on 28th June and covered full Kerala on 29th June. On 30th June it reached up to Mysuru districts of Karnataka. From 30th to 02nd June monsoon did not advance over peninsular India, however, it advanced a little in Northeastern state.

Heat Wave

There was heat wave to severe heat wave conditions prevailed in west Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha & Saurashtra-Kutch. The highest maximum temperature recorded at Churu (Rajasthan) on 2nd June 2018 was 49.7 deg C.

Rainfall Activity

Due to monsoon advancement in peninsular India rainfall was recorded throughout the week. The heavy rains were recorded at number of places on 28th, 29th & 30th May in the states of Kerala, Lakshadweep & Andaman Nicorbar islands. Northeast parts of India also recorded rainfall throughout the week with heavy spells occurred at one or two places on 28th , 29th May & 2nd June in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Sikkim, Mizoram.

On 2nd June Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, coastal & south interior Karnataka also recorded heavy rain at one or two places.

In Maharashtra, second half of the week witnessed increasing thunder activity over the districts of South Madhya Maharashtra like Satara Sangli Kolhapur and Sindhudurg.

Forecast of the state of Maharashtra, Goa & Gujarat:

Heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Rayalaseema, coastal & south interior Karnataka.

From 03rd June to 05th June – Pune, Solapur, Osmanabad, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts will have moderate rainfall. Rest of the districts will have light rainfall.

06th June to 09th June – As the system is moving from coastal Andhra Pradesh to Madhya Maharashtra crossing North Interior Karnataka , Osmanabad, Solapur, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri including Goa will face heavy rainfall. Kolhapur, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg will observe very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.

Gujarat and Vidarbha will get pre-monsoon light showers during the week.

Forecast for the week other parts from 03-06-2018 to 09-06-2018.

In coming week, rainfall will be active over Northeast India, Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep islands.

Heavy rainfall forecast during 5th & 6th June 2018:

Heavy rain possible at one or two places over Rayalseema, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka state and Kerala.
