07th OCTOBER 2017 – MONSOON UPDATES & WEEKLY WEATHER REPORT

Realised Weather over Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat State and Synoptic situation. (01^st October to 07^th October)

Though the monsoon is in withdrawal stage, the peninsular India is under the grip of active rainfall condition. This is due to cyclonic circulation which was formed over South Odisha on 01^stOctober. It then moved to North Odisha and then to Bangaladesh at the end of the week. The trough from this circulation to East Central Arabian sea across Telangana, Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka persisted full week.

A cyclonic circulation also persists on East Central Arabian sea on 06^th and 07^th October. The trough across the peninsular country gave good amount of rain to Telangana, Rayalaseem, North Interior Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka and Vidarbha. The cloud patches in below satellite pictures are result of trough formation due to cyclonic circulation.

Rainfall Activity

In Marathawada rainfall occurred at isolated places with thunder from 01^st to 05^th and on 06^th , 07^th rainfall occurred at few places. Marathwada experienced dry weather from 01^st, 04^th and 05^th . On 02^nd and 06^th rain occurred at few places.

Districts of North Madhya Maharashtra observed sunny weather from 01^st to 06^th on 07^th thunder storm with rain occurred at most places.

Rainfall occurred at few places from 01^st to 06^th over South Madhya Maharashtra. On 07^th rain occurred at most places over South Madhya Maharashtra.

North Konkan received rainfall at few places on 01^st and from 02^nd to 06^th it observed either dry days or rain at one or two places. On 07^th rain with thunder occurred at most places over North Konkan area.

South Konkan – Goa observed rain at many places on 01^st , 02^nd and 03^rd and then rainfall at isolated places on 04^th , 05^th and 06^th but on 07^th there were rain with thunder at many places over South Konkan – Goa. Gujarat state was dry full week.

Day temperature were above normal over Vidarbha, Marathwada, North Madhya Maharashtra and South Gujarat region.

 

Forecast for the week from 08^th October to 14^th October.

North Konkan :- Districts of North Konkan will experience moderate rainfall at few places on 08^th and 09^th. On 10^th October night and 11^ththis area will observe heavy to very heavy rainfall. From 11^th night rainfall activity will decrease and on 12^th 13^th and 14^th there will be moderate rainfall at few places.

South Konkan – Goa :-These districts will observe moderate to heavy rainfall at many places on 08^th , moderate rainfall at many places on 09^th 10^th and 11^th . On 12^th 13^th and 14^th there will be light to moderate rainfall at few places.

North Madhya Maharashtra :- Districts of this region will experience thunder activity during next week.

08^th – Light to moderate rainfall with thunder at few places.

09^th–Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder at many places.

10^th – Heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunder storm at many places.

11^th – Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder at many places.

12^th – Light to Moderate rainfall at few places.

13^th – Moderate to heavy rain at many places.

14^th – Light to moderate rain at few places.

South Madhya Maharashtra – These districts will observe moderate to heavy rainfall at many places on 08^th and 09^th . On 10^th this area will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at many places. On 11^th , 12^th and 13^th there will be moderate rainfall at few places. On 14^th again there will be moderate to heavy rainfall at many places.

Marathwada :-Moderate to heavy rainfall will occur at many places on 08^th October. Moderate rain will occur at many places on 09^th and 10^th . On 11^th and 12^th light to moderate rain will occur at few places. Again on 13^th moderate rain will occur at many places. On 14^th moderate to heavy rain will occur at many places.

Vidarbha :- Districts of Vidarbha will observe moderate to heavy rain at most places in first half of the week. There after moderate rain at few places. Thunder storm activity will be more in the first half of the week.

Gujarat State :- Gujarat State will experience sunny days. Day temperature will be above normal because of intense sun radiation.
