Weekly Report Ending 23rd April 2017

The Cyclonic Storm Maarutha crossed the Myanmar coast on 16th Night. Nicely churn the Bay of Bengal. While crossing T value was 2.5 and crossed Sandoway.

Last week Gujarat and Maharashtra was warmer than normal.

From 19th a fresh Western Disturbance (WD) started running from west to east and by today it reached to Bangaladesh.

A Western Disturbance is an extratropical storm originating in the Mediterranean region that brings sudden winter rain to the northwestern parts of the Indian subcontinent. It is a non-monsoonal precipitation pattern driven by the westerlies.

On 17th only thundershowers occurred at isolated places over Vidarbha. Other wise full week Maharashtra and Gujarat was dry. Heat Wave prevailed at few places over Gujarat State and Vidarbha till 21st of April.

Over Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada also thundershowers occurred at isolated places from 17th to 20th .

In Vidarbha on 17th, 18th 19th and 20th Chandrapur recorded 46 degree Celsius temperature which was highest in India.

Konkan was above normal but to some extent the temperature of Konkan was maintained by sea breeze.

 

Forecast for Next week ending by 30th April 2017:

Next week also it will be dry over Konkan-Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Matahawada. But day temperature will not be like previous week.

Sunday and Monday NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura) will have heavy rain.

A new WD will be entering through North West India from 26th onwards. This WD is having induced cyclonic circulation so it will give dry thunder storm (Andhi) over West UP. Even North MP also likely to experience thunderstorm.

Also 26th to 28th Northern part of Central India will experience Thunder activity.

Due to thunder activity may be our Maharashtra region will not experience high temperature during sunny day.
