WEATHER REPORT FROM 14TH TO 20TH SEPTEMBER & FORECAST FOR 21ST-27TH SEPTEMBER 2020

In last week a low pressure was formed over Bay:

  • On 14th Sept 2020, this low was formed over west-central Bay of Bengal near off Andhra coast.
  • On 16th Sept morning it subsided and remained as cyclonic circulation till 17th Sept.

 

Formation of Low Pressure Over NorthEast Bay:

The low pressure was formed over Northeast Bay of Bengal on 19th Sept 2020. It was the remnant of Tropical Storm Noul which traveled from the South China sea through Vietnam.

 

Monsoon Activity

Monsoon was very active throughout the week in Peninsular and Northeast parts of India.

14th Sept – Bhuj 54, Panjim 52

15th Sept – Passighat (Arunachal Pradesh) 99, Port Blair 62

16th Sept – Passighat 79, Mangluru 47

17th Sept – Passighat 131, Car Nicobar 33

18th Sept -Mangluru 103, Panjim 84, Dibrugarh 41

19th Sept – Mangluru 80, Chennai 76

20th Sept – Mangluru 217

 

Forecast for next week from 21st to 27th Sept 2020:

The movement of Low pressure:

The low formed over Northeast Bay of Bengal is likely to move in West NorthWest (WNW) direction. It is likely to intensify. It will move till central India by 22nd-23rd Sept and move to northward direction due to strong anti-cyclonic winds over Northwest parts of India.

 

Rainfall activity:

The passage of this system will create a strong monsoon current along the coastal Karnataka and Kerala causing heaviest spells upto 22nd September. South Madhya Maharashtra and South Konkan Goa too will have good rain for next 2 days.

This system will move till central India by 23rd increasing the rainfall activity all the places over Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar.

On 24th the rainfall activity will shift towards Uttar Pradesh.

Districts of South Konkan-Goa, South Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra with getting good for the next 2 days.

Overall the monsoon rainfall activity will be active in Northeastern parts, Peninsular India throughout the week.

The Northwest and some Northern parts of India such as Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, J & K  will have very little rain or dry.

Whereas Rajasthan and Kutch in Gujarat will be dry. So there is possibility of withdrawal of monsoon once this passage of low pressure system in over.
