Break in Monsoon in August 2023
The SW monsoon is in break condition as the monsoon trough is shifted to the north of it’s normal position passing from Amritsar, Uttar Pradesh till Manipur.

Rainfall Activity
Due to shifting of monsoon trough towards north rainfall activity will increase in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur. Heavy to very heavy rainfall will be observed in the first half of the week along thunderstorm activity.
Rest of the country will observe decrease in rainfall activity with no significant weather.
Active Monsoon
The chances of monsoon revival will be in the last week of August due to chances of low formation in Bay of Bengal.
