Deep Depression Formed Over Bay & Will Become Cyclone Nivar

A deep depression is located about 480 km southeast of Chennai. It is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm Nivar during early morning of 24th November. It is very likely to move northwestwards and cross Tamilnadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram around 25th November 2020 afternoon as a severe cyclonic storm.

Under its influence, the rainfall activity is likely to increase over south peninsular India from 24th November onwards with rainfall/thunderstorm activity over many places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during 24th to 26th November and over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema and Telangana during 25th to 26th November 2020.

Extremely heavy rainfall activity is also very likely at one or two places over Tamilnadu & Puducherry during 24th & 25th and over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Rayalseema on 25th & 26th and over Telangana on 26th November 2020.

Nagapattinam Vellore and Puducheri will get very heavy to extremely heavy rain on 25 and 26.

One more depression is going to hit on 1st December to Tamil Nadu.
