Landfall of Cyclone Biporjoy & Monsoon Advance 2023

Weekly forecast for the week from 12 June to 18 June 2023:
Arabian Sea Cyclone:
The extremely severe cyclonic storm BIPARJOY is now over east central Arabian sea, about 560 kilometer west of Mumbai 460 kilometer south southwest of Porbandar at 0830 hours IST of 11th June. It is likely to move North east direction and cross between Karachi of Pakistan and Naliya of Kutch on 15th June morning.

Due to cyclone, on 15th Saurashtra and Kutch will face heavy rain and strong wind with wind speed reaching nearly 160 km/hr.

After the landfall of Cyclone, it will further weaken and move upto Madhya Pradesh as a low pressure.
Due to this, from 15th to 18th Gujarat south Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh will get moderate rain.

Heat Wave Conditions:
Heat wave will continue over Jharkhand, Bihar, parts of East Uttar Pradesh and parts of Odissa till 16th of June.

Monsoon 2023
Conditions are favourable for further advancement of south west monsoon over Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and north east states during next two days.

Assam, Meghalaya & Arunachal Pradesh will observe moderate to heavy rain during the week
