Monsoon Overviee and Onset Over Kerala:
The South Asian Climate Outlook Forum predict above normal rainfall in most part of south Asia during 2024 monsoon season.
Forecast is based on favourable La Nina conditions which are expected to set in by August – September.
India is also going to receive above normal rainfall during the season as per IMD.
It is quite difficult to forecast about monsoon to arrive at Kerala. Normal date for set in over Kerala is 1st June. We can expect the arrival in the last week of May.

Rainfall activity:
On 6th and 7th May – Assam Meghalaya West Bengal Nagaland Manipur Mizoram Tripura South Chhattisgarh Andhra Pradesh Jharkhand South Interior Karnataka Part of Telangana will have rainfall.

On 6th May – Assam Meghalaya will heavy rain at some places.

On 7th May – West Bengal South Chhattisgarh South Andhra Pradesh will have heavy rain at some places.

On 8th and 9th May – Coastal Kerala North Andhra Pradesh South Coastal Karnataka North Odisha South Interior Karnataka West Bengal will have rain.

On 9th May,South Interior Karnataka and interior Kerala will have heavy rain at some places.

Hot Weather:
Hot and humid weather will prevail over Gujarat and Konkan area.
Hot and humid weather will also prevail over Kerala Andhra Pradesh Coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu during the week.
Heat wave conditions will prevail over interior Karnataka Rajasthan West Madhya Pradesh and Saurashtra during the week.
