REALIZED WEATHER FROM 11TH-17TH MAY & FORECAST FOR 18TH TO 25TH MAY 2020

During the last week Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal (Himalayan area as well as plain area) received good rainfall due to the moist current of Bay of Bengal.

Kerala coastal, Karnataka received good rainfall by Arabian sea cyclonic circulation.

Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh also received rainfall due to Western Disturbance.

Some areas like Vidarbha East, West Rajasthan, East and West Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka were affected by thunderstorm.

Thunderstorm affected those areas also which received rain by Western Disturbance and current of Bay of Bengal. In Kerala also someday heavy rainfall occurred to some area.

Last week’s temperature was high for North Maharashtra and West Madhya Pradesh.

The highest maximum temperature recorded by the stations

  • Kota, Rajasthan – 45.0 deg C on 11th
  • Palodi, Rajasthan – 44.9 deg C on 12th
  • Malegaon North Madhya Maharashtra – 43.6 deg C on 13th
  • Khargone West MP – 43.5 deg C on 14th
  • Khargone West MP – 44.0 deg C on 15th
  • Khargone West MP – 43.5 deg C on 16th
  • Jalgaon North Maharashtra – 44.6 deg C on 17th

Due to Thunder Storm over West Rajasthan, the highest maximum temperate most of the time recorded by West MP and adjoining Maharashtra. Even Vidarbha also affected by the thunderstorm.

 

Formation of Cyclone Amphan

  • On 11th May – Cyclonic circulation formed over Andaman sea and adjoining Sumatra coast
  • 13th May – Formed as the low-pressure area over South East Bay of Bengal
  • 14th May – Formed as Well Marked Low over the same area.
  • 16th May – Intensified into depression
  • 17th May – Intensified into cyclonic storm AMPHAN by IMD.

The position of this cyclonic storm at 0830 IST of 17-05-2020 is Latitude 11.4 and Longitude 86.0 nearly 990 km south of Paradeep as per IMD.

Coming week (18th- 24th May ) The cyclone AMPHAN will intensify further by tomorrow on 18th May 2020.
On 19th or 20th it will enter to Odisha coast and move towards Jharkhand and Bihar as per the model.

 

Rainfall and Temperature:
During coming week Kerala Odesa Jharkhand Bihar and North East state will get good rain at times heavy also. Tamil Nadu also may get some rainfall.
Day temperature of West MP Vidarbha and Rajasthan will rise .
