Weather Overview for 1st Week of September: 2023

Withdrawal of monsoon:
Rainfall will be below normal in the month of September over India. The weather over West Rajasthan is expected to remain dry during the month of September due to dry air incursion. Therefore, there may be an early commencement of monsoon withdrawal from West Rajasthan and Kutch. Normal dates of withdrawal of monsoon from West Rajasthan is 17th September.

Effect of El Nino
Though Indian Ocean Dipole is positive in the month of September but it wouldn’t overcome the negative impact of El Nino during September. Western parts of Maharashtra also will face below normal Rainfall during the month. Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh will observe same situation as West Maharashtra.
