WEATHER REPORT FROM 21ST TO 27TH SEPTEMBER & FORECAST FROM 28TH-04TH OCTOBER 2020

Realised Weather from 21st Sept to 27th Sept 2020:

Last week the low pressure was formed over East Bay of Bengal on 21st Sept moved west-northwestwards through Odisha and reached east Madhya Pradesh by the evening of 23rd Sept.
Due to the strong Westerly to Northwesterly anti-cyclonic winds, the low travelled northwards towards Uttar Pradesh on 24th Sept. It travelled in Eastward direction towards Bihar and became less significant by 26th Sept night.

Rainfall Activity:
Monsoon was active over Northeast parts of India throughout the week.

  • Due to the passage of low-pressure rainfall was very significant on:
    On 21st and 22nd Sept over Saurashtra, many parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh.
  • On 23rd, 24th over Madhya Pradesh, parts of Maharashtra, East Uttar Pradesh,
  • 25th & 26th over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Coastal Karnataka.

Western Disturbance
The passage of Western disturbance was observed in higher latitudes above 28 deg N travelling Afghanistan, North Pakistan, Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh and then travelled Northeast wards.

 

Forecast from 28th Sept to 04th October 2020:
The rainfall will be active throughout the week in Andaman Nicobar islands. Whereas the rainfall activity will reduce in the second half in Northeastern parts of India, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Peninsular parts will get some rainfall throughout.

Withdrawal of Monsoon
Weather was dry over Northwest and Northern parts of India. The strong anticyclonic wind is already the indication of monsoon withdrawal.

The westerly to northwesterly winds are making the monsoon currents weaker thereby reducing the rainfall activity till central India.
