Weather report for the week from 01st to 07th June 2020

Monsoon Development

During the last week on 01st  June, Southwest monsoon was set over Kerala.

On 04th June monsoon covered entire Kerala some part on Karnataka some more part of the Comorin area, Southwest Bay of Bengal most part of Southeast Bay of Bengal and some part of east-central Bay of Bengal.

On 06th monsoon was further advanced over some more parts of South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu,  Puducherry, Karaikal and most parts of Southwest Bay of Bengal, entire Southeast Bay of Bengal.

 

Cyclone NISARGA

It was the second cyclone after Amphan. Due to cyclone NISARGA Ratnagiri, Raigad districts experienced great damages.

On 2nd June – A low-pressure area formed over East Central Arabian sea and became deep depression

03rd June it became a severe cyclonic storm named NISARGA.

On 03rd June, Cyclone made landfall over Shrivardhan/Harihareshwar to the south of Alibagh around 1130 hours IST.

On 4th June, the remnant of the cyclone moved as depression over the Northwest part of Vidarbha and then moved to Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh as low-pressure area. While moving towards North-East direction gave heavy rain to the areas from where it passed.

On 06th June this low (a remnant of Cyclone NISARGA)  became less marked.

Rainfall

During the last week almost whole India observed rainfall except West Rajasthan.

 

Temperatures

Day temperature came down appreciably from third day of the week. Highest maximum temperature in the country recorded by the stations:

  • Khargone West MP 44.0 Deg. C. on 01st June
  • Khargone West MP 44.0 Deg. C. on 02nd June
  • Surendranagar Saurashtra Gujarat 42.0 Deg. C. on 03rdJune
  • Jaisalmer West Rajasthan 41.7 Deg. C. on 04th June
  • Tiruttani Tamil Nadu 42.2 Deg. C. on 05th June
  • Tiruttani Tamil Nadu 41.7 Deg. C. on 06th June
  • Rentichintala Coastal AP42.0 Deg. C. on 07th June

 

Forecast –  (08 June to 14 June)

Formation of Low In Bay

On 8th June, a Low-pressure area will be forming over the Myanmar coast. This low-pressure area will concentrate into well-marked low-pressure area. It will cross from north Odisha coast and move West NorthWest ward.

This system will play an important role in the advancement of SW Monsoon and active monsoon over the West Coast of the country.

 

Rainfall

  • States of North East India and Kerala state will have heavy rain.
  • The second half of the week will be bringing moderate to heavy rain over Odisha Chhattisgarh Jharkhand and then the activity will shift to Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan Goa.
  • The rest of peninsular India and adjoining east India will have light to moderate rain.
