WEATHER REPORT FROM 03RD TO 09TH AUG & FORECAST FOR 10TH-16TH AUGUST 2020

Realized weather during the last week from 03rd August to 09th August

A low-pressure area formed over Bay of Bengal on 04th August which pulled the monsoon trough southward.

A cyclonic circulation formed over Arabian sea off North Konkan coast. This situation made monsoon active over Central India, Peninsular India and the west coast of India.

Heavy Rainfall

Heavy to very heavy rainfall observed over these areas. Mumbai collapsed due to heavy rain on 04th, 05tj, 06tj August. Colaba recorded 34 cm of rainfall on 06/08/20 which is a record rainfall during the last decade. During the same period Kerala, Karnataka (specially coastal Karnataka) Gujarat Maharashtra also faced heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Forecast–  (10th August to 16th August 2020)

A low-pressure area has formed over North West Bay of Bengal off North Odisha coast. This low-pressure area will move in West North West direction. Well marked low pressures area of Arabian sea has weakened and moved away to westward. Monsoon trough will be south of its normal position. By the time this low will reach West India another low will form over Bay of Bengal.

On 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th of August Uttar Pradesh Madhya Pradesh Vidarbha and East Rajasthan will have good rainfall.

West coast of India including Konkan will have rainfall with reduced intensity as compared to last week. Tamil Nadu Rayalaseema South Interior Karnataka will have less rain or nil rain.

On 15th, 16th, 17th of August East Rajasthan North Gujarat Kutch South West Rajasthan will have heavy rain with one or two spells of very heavy rain. During this period also Tamil Nadu Rayalaseema and South Interior Karnataka will have very little rain.
