WEATHER REPORT FROM 12TH TO 18TH OCTOBER 2020 AND FORECAST FOR WEEK FROM 19TH TO 25TH OCTOBER 2020

Here is the weather report for the last week ending on 18th October and forecast for next week starting from 19th October 2020.

Monsoon Withdrawal
As per IMD, the withdrawal line of the South West Monsoon continues to pass through Lat.28°N/Long.83°E, Faizabad, Fatehpur, Nowgong, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Porbandar as shown in the figure below:

Low Pressure System

In the last week the Depression was formed over westcentral Bay. The following is the status of the this system:
12th October – It was intensified into a deep depression over west central Bay, located at 250 km South Southeast of Vishakapathnam.
13th October – It crossed north Andhra Pradesh near Kakinada in the morning of 13th October. Soon after the landfall it became Depression.
15th October – On it’s path of Westnorthwest wards direction from Andhra towards South Maharashtra it became further reduced in intensity in the evening of 14th October.
16th October – This system entered into East Central Arabian sea near coast of Dapoli in South Konkan.
17th October – The system intensified into a depression in the morning of 17th at 440 km west-northwest of Mumbai. It moved in Westwards direction thereafter.

Rainfall Activity:
Due to the passage of the low-pressure system there was intense spells of heavy rainfall in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Marathawada, South Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Maharashtra and Karnataka,

14th October – Hayathnagar 300, Pochampalle 252, Kollur 241, Hakimpet 203, Hyderabad 192, Manthala 153, Mangaluru AP 152, Basavakalyan 151, Agumbe 139, Nilanga 131, Kudulu 112, Avanigada 102, Nandigama 101

Forecast for next week from 19-10-2020 to 25-10-2020
Depression over central Arabian sea moving away from Indian coast. A low pressure area will form over central Bay of Bengal around 19th of October. It will not come deep on land areas. The effect of this low will be up to Odisha, some part of Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and some part of Telangana and Tamil Nadu. A anticyclone will develop over Kutch and adjoining South Rajasthan. Mumbai will observe NE’ly wind which will bring withdrawal of monsoon and decrease in temperature. West Bengal, Bihar, North East states and peninsular India may get rain. Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh will get heavy rain at some places.
