WEATHER REPORT FROM 19TH TO 25TH OCTOBER 2020 AND FORECAST FOR WEEK FROM 25TH OCTOBER TO 01ST NOVEMBER 2020

As per IMD, till 26th October 2020, the monsoon withdrawal line of the South West Monsoon passes through Lat. 27°N/Long.90°E,
Cooch Behar, Sriniketan, Ghatshila, Keonjhargarh, Nowrangpur, Elluru, Nalgonda, Nanded, Nasik, Dahanu, Lat.20°N/Long.65°E and Lat.20°N/Long.60°E. The South West Monsoon has further withdrawn from some more parts of Gangetic West Bengal; most parts of Jharkhand; some parts of Odisha; remaining parts of Chhattisgarh; some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana; entire Vidarbha; remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh; some parts of Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan; remaining parts of Gujarat and north Arabian Sea today.

Depression over Arabian Sea
Last week’s low-pressure system over East Arabian sea moved in a westwards direction and become a depression. This depression moved westward and further weakened. It was a long journey which started from 09th October from North Andaman sea and ended on
21st October over west-central Arabian sea.

Low Pressure over Bay
The low pressure was again formed over central Bay on 20th October 2020. It intensified as a depression in the morning of
22nd October. It moved westwards first and later moved north-northeastward direction. It crossed West Bengal and adjoining
Bangladesh coasts in the morning of 23rd October 2020 as a Depression.

Rainfall Activity
Rainfall was active over Madhya Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and some parts of Karnataka. In the later half of the week rainfall
activity increased over the Northeast states of India.

Forecast for the week from 26th October to 01st November 2020:

Rain activity will increase over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala due to the commencement of Northeasterly winds. This rain is known as the Northeast monsoon.

Southwest monsoon will withdraw from the entire country due to the total reversal of winds by 28th October. Anticyclone already developed over Kutch and central India.

A cyclonic circulation will be moving towards Tamil Nadu. This will give rain to Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka.
