Realized weather during the last week from 27th July to 02nd August

Monsoon Trough

During the last week, monsoon trough was at the foothills of Himalaya only western part is fluctuating to the south of its normal position but the eastern part of trough remained at the foothills full week. There fore North East states including Bihar northern part of east UP, Sikkim and some part of West Bengal observed heavy rain. Rivers were flooded there is a great loss of property and crops.

Rainfall

In the North West region of the country, larger areas received a good amount of rainfall. West UP, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi North East Rajasthan some part of North MP, North Chhattisgarh and Odisha. On one or two days Telangana Marathwada and some part of South Madhya Maharashtra experienced rain due to cyclonic circulation formed in the south AP and adjoining north Tamil Nadu coast. Due to this south Konkan Goa Coastal Karnataka and Kerala also observed good rain.

28th July: Darjeeling-23; Dharchula-18; Jalpaiguri-14; Baghdogra-11; Haridwar, Kamrup, West Champaran, Nawarangpur, Raigarh, Ratnagiri and Harnai-10 each; Kishanganj-9; Muzaffarpur, Purnea and Uttara Kannada-8 each

29th July: Bageshwar-30 (Uttarakhand); Baderajpur-23 (Chhattisgarh); Kottayam-20 (Kerala); Kochin-15; Jammu-11; Anandpur Sahib-10; Bombay(Calaba)-9; Jamshedpur, PuruliaWB, Bankura and Kolkata-8 each; Dehradun, Punalur and Haflong-7; Wardha and Dharmapuri-6

Forecast–  (03August to 09August)

Formation of Low Pressure in Bay

On 04th August a low-pressure area is going to form in the North Bay of Bengal. The position of this low is very good and it will move West North West direction and whole central India and central West India will experience a good amount of rainfall including the west coast.

 

Monsoon Trough:

At present monsoon trough is still at the foothills of Himalaya. With the formation of low, the monsoon trough will shift southwards increasing the rainfall activity in central India.

 

Rainfall

From 03rd to 06th August heavy to very heavy rain with one or two spells of extremely heavy rain over North Konkan, South Gujarat, Saurashtra. Moderate rain with one or two heavy spells over the South Konkan Goa Karnataka coast and Kerala coast.

03rd – 05th August good rain over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East MP.

04th – 06th good rain over West MP, South Rajasthan, whole Gujarat state.

West Rajasthan Punjab Haryana and some parts of East Rajasthan will have no rain.

In the middle of the week Telangana Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra North Interior Karnataka will have moderate with one or two heavy spells.

Tamil Nadu Rayalaseema South Interior Karnataka will have very little rain during the week.
