Hot Weather

During the last week, the first four days were very hot for Central and North India. All the districts of North India and Central India observed severe heatwave. Heatwave affected severely West Rajasthan, Vidarbha Haryana, Delhi,  East Uttar Pradesh.

The fifth-day Western Disturbance approached. Due to Western Disturbance North and North-West India experienced thunderstorms and rain. Due to thunder and rain activity, North India got relief from the heatwave.

 

Rainfall

The remnant of cyclone AMPHAN continue to give rain to North-East state. Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Assam and Meghalaya observed heavy rain on some days. Adjoining areas like West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar also received rain during this period.

In the second half of the week Kerala, Lakshadweep, Karnataka observed thunderstorm and rain. On some occasions at one or two places, Kerala experienced heavy rain. Sky Met has declared the onset of monsoon over Kerala on 29TH of May.

Forecast

Low Pressure System & Cyclone

A Low-pressure area has formed over the South East Arabian sea on 30th May. It is likely to become a cyclonic storm (NISARGA) by the 2nd or 3rd of May. As per the different models, its movement is nearly northward. By 3rd or 4th June, the system will cross south Gujarat North Maharashtra coast. During the first half of the week, Kerala Karnataka Maharashtra (excluding Vidarbha and Marathwada) will experience good rain/thundershower. During the second half of the week, Gujarat East Rajasthan some part of West MP and West UP will observe rain/thundershower.

 

Rain & Thunderstorm

North-East states will continue to get rain. Assam and Meghalaya will get heavy rain on one or two days.

Rayalaseema Telangana South Chhattisgarh may face a thunderstorm on 1st and 2nd June. The rest of the country will experience a dry week.

 

Monsoon Advance

The low will be helpful in the advancement of monsoon over Kerala and Karnataka.

 

Fishermen Warning

Fishermen of the west coast of India will have to stop their fishing activity next week and those already into the sea should come back to the coast.
