Weekly forecast for the week from 19th December to 25th December 2022.

This week is a winter solstice week for the northern hemisphere which falls on 22nd December. On this day, Northern hemisphere has longest night whereas Southern hemisphere has logest day.  Every year it falls between 20th and 23rd of December in which 20th and 23rd are very rare. It occurs when North pole of the earth has its maximum tilt away from the sun. Sun rays falls directly over Tropic of Capricorn (Latitude 23 degree 27 minutes South is called Tropic of Capricorn and Latitude 23 degree 27 minutes North is called tropic of cancer).

In Latin Solstice means solstitum which means stand still. Because the sun reaches its southern most position as seen from the earth and stand still at that point and then reverses its direction for further journey.

A cyclonic circulation/low moving west ward across south Sri Lanka will not give rain to Tamil Nadu but another cyclonic circulation/low moving towards Tamil Nadu will give rain to Tamil Nadu on 22nd 23rd 24th and 25th of December.

In northern India cold wave likely to prevail over Himachal Pradesh Punjab Haryana and part of north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh during first half of the week. Morning fog will prevail over Punjab Haryana Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

South West Madhya Pradesh interior Maharashtra will observe fall in minimum temperature by two to four degree during next three days.
